CANON VERSES — MV S01 : follows the canon events of season one. while on assignment for the commission, an organization that monitors and corrects the timeline, five defects and travels through time in an attempt to avert the apocalypse he was stuck in for decades alone.physical context: when five jumped through time without the use of commission equipment he got the “time dilation projection” equation wrong and ended up regressing to a much younger version of himself. he was in his fifties and when he returns to his timeline he inhabits the body of his teenage self.emotional context: five struggles with asking for help, and realizing he’s not alone anymore. he focuses on his mission without stopping to think about the implications of his actions on his family or the timeline. he is arrogant and overconfident on the surface, but he’s actually quite unsure of his ability to save the world. heMV S02 : follows the canon events of season two. escaping the apocalypse with all of his siblings should have been a win. instead five is responsible for stranding his family throughout the timeline in early 1960’s texas. this verse follows his attempts to track down his family and avert the apocalypse that followed them back in time.physical context: five is still trapped in his younger body, correcting this becomes a tertiary concern as his focus is split between surviving and finding his family. he drinks coffee and alcohol as if he were an adult, undoubtedly stunting his growth. he’s also wounded several times during this season.emotional context: five is more willing to ask for help as he’s worked with his siblings more and gotten somewhat used to working as a team. now he has to confront the fact that he let his family down and they don’t want to help him. he’s forced to compromise the code he’d begun building and resort to working for his former employer.PRE MV : explores the pre-canon events of five’s time at the commission. five is rescued by the handler after being stranded in the apocalypse alone for over four decades. he works as an assassin, traveling through time to kill anyone that could shift time off of it’s set course. he combats the variable of free will by removing pre-selected people from the timeline so they can’t alter it with their actions.older fc will be used for this verse as this is prior to the events of S01.

ALT CANON AU VERSES — **POST S01 AU ** : five and his siblings are able to avert the apocalypse without having to travel back in time. everyone is left to deal with the fallout of events in the current timeline. unsure of his place, and certain the commission is still hunting him, five goes into hiding. plot and partner dependent: the location he is hiding and who is with him, or knows his whereabouts.**ALT S01 AU ** : the error in "time dilation projection" equation still causes five’s age regression, but instead of being a teenager - his age is that of his siblings, or what his age would have been if he hadn’t jumped forward in time in the first place.alt fc will be used for this verse.**COMMISION AU ** : an alternative timeline where five is recruited by the handler a couple decades sooner. see PRE MV above for more contextual information.alt older fc will be used for this verse.

CROSSOVER AU VERSES — **X-MEN ** : verse aligns with tua canon up to the point of reginald’s funeral (although could align through to five’s explanation to vanya about the events of the apocalypse). in this verse five isn’t stranded in the future alone, instead he’s trapped in a dystopian future where the government sentinel program has killed nearly all powered individuals. of the people lost to the technology-powered eradication are all of five’s siblings. he travels back in time in an attempt to divert, sabotage, or otherwise destroy the sentinel program.......... **DYSTOPIA ** : a x-men sub-verse in the future timeline. powered people are actively hunted and imprisoned or eliminated by the sentinels. five survives alone, watching as the last few groups of resistance fighters are rounded up and slaughtered. he works tirelessly to solve the equation that will allow him to jump back to his timeline.**MARVEL ** : a mash-up verse that assumes knowledge of the umbrella academy, eccentric billionaire sir reginald hargreeves’ collection of powered children, and the history of their downfall. with five’s disappearance, ben’s death, and the other’s disbanded, it’s ancient history. a weird chapter in popular culture everyone, but the children involved, have no problem forgetting. until five returns from the future with a mission to save the world from imminent destruction. this verse is a departure from canon and doesn’t adhere to any of the events of S01 or S02 in the main timeline. all events in future and commision timelines remain relevant to character and plot.**WESTERN ** : five is adopted by eccentric plantation owner reginald hargreeves, along with six other children. reginald suffered severe hallucinations and delusions after his wife was brutally murdered in a home invasion. he assigned the children numbers instead of giving them names, and convinced himself that they had special abilities, that they’d be able to protect him. they were abused and tormented with so-called training for years, hidden from the world. when he turned thirteen five couldn’t take the abuse anymore. with a guilty conscious and a heavy heart - he ran, driven west to the outskirts of civilization, always looking over his shoulder. he travels under the name quin, a take on the latin word for his given name five.more coming soon!
